Registration is now open for Northern Buckeye’s Google Certified Educator (GCE) Level 1 and Level 2 which will run this September – December. Each cohort will take an educator through all the preparation they will need for the Google Certified Educator exam and it can be done at your own pace.

The cohorts will be facilitated by myself and Chris Malanga (both Google Certified Trainers) using Google Classroom. The cohorts will be open from Monday, September 20th through Friday, December 17th. Participants work at their own pace, through eight modules of videos and activities to help them better understand Google Workspace. Even if you don’t want to take the certification exam, the course will help you use Google tools more effectively in your classroom. read more

Do you have the same problem as everyone else? Lots of useful information to read online, but no time to do it? You wish you could just tuck it away to read at a later date…well, now you can. Meet the Chrome Reading List! 

The Chrome Reading List is built right into Chrome, there is nothing to download. You can access it on your Bookmarks bar and it travels with you in your Chrome profile. 

 

To add any page to your reading list, just simply click on the star in your omnibox (URL bar) just like you would to add a bookmark. Only don’t add it to your bookmarks, add it to your reading list.  read more

Looking for a free whiteboard option? Check out Google Jamboard…you can get to it right from your apps launcher! It is also integrated into Google Meet. 

Google Jamboard is a great tool to use for demonstrating a skill, flow chart, diagram, or any concept. Click on the plus sign tostart a new jam and name it.

Change your background and start drawing on your whiteboard. Note that you can even upload your own custom background. 

 

Jamboard even has sticky notes that you can use for text, and you can bring in your own images. The last tool is a laser which you can use to circle information, and then it disappears.   read more

It is so frustrating when you click on your Apps launcher, or waffle menu, and you have to scroll down forever to find Google Classroom, or even Jamboard. An easy fix is to just bookmark all your favorite apps to your toolbar, but sometimes you want to open them quickly from your Apps Launcher, too!

You used to have to install an extension to customize your Apps Launcher. Now you can reorder them without anything extra.

Just click on your Apps Launcher (waffle) to open it. Then click and hold down any app icon in your launcher and drag it to where you want it. Put all your favorites at the top for easy access.  read more
