Mote B-I-N-G-O! and Connect 4 Templates

Last week’s Tech Tuesday’s article introduced Mote, a Chrome extension that lets you easily add voice comments and audio clips to shared documents, assignments, forms, and emails.  During a recent MoteCon, Stephanie Howell from Pickerington Local School District graciously shared a B-I-N-G-O template she designed to work with Mote. Who doesn’t love B-I-N-G-O, right?!

The Mote B-I-N-G-O cards could be used as choice boards. Click here to make a copy of the B-I-N-G-O Google Slides template. The template includes six completely editable sample boards. You could revise the template to create a “This or That” activity, an assessment, a book review, just to name a few. The following example shows how you can edit the template.

The students will strategically determine what questions to answer to get a B-I-N-G-O! The students will record their responses using the Mote extension and placing the audio icon over the question like a traditional B-I-N-G-O chip. The following instructional video shows an example of a student adding the audio clip to the B-I-N-G-O card.

Using Mrs. Howell’s idea, I created a Connect 4 board template. Click here to make a copy. If you want to use images, the instructional video below shows how you can crop an image in a shape of a circle.

Students could share a copy of the template with a friend and play against each other by formatting the Mote audio recording button color to differentiate their chip. Below is an example of a Connect 4 board foreign language vocabulary game with steps on how to change a player’s chip to a different color:
